Today marks the conclusion of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai. The event will see the presence of key allies who have supported him throughout the two-month-long, 6,700-km foot march that commenced from Manipur.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav are among those confirmed to attend the event at Shivaji Park, signifying the end of the yatra, as stated by a Congress leader.
Additionally, Uddhav Thackeray and his son Aaditya, Sharad Pawar, and Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren are expected to join, emphasizing a message of opposition unity ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Sources have indicated that former Congress chief and Rahul Gandhi's mother, Sonia Gandhi, will also be present at the event, and she plans to meet with Maharashtra alliance leaders earlier in the day.
Furthermore, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who arrived in Mumbai yesterday and joined the yatra, will also participate in the concluding event.
Expressing her sentiments, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra stated, "Today marks the end of the 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.' Both of us are delighted to be here. Rahul Gandhi ji undertook this journey to illuminate the realities of our country. The entire journey aimed to raise awareness among the public."
The east-west Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra commenced its journey from Imphal on January 14 and has traversed across more than 100 Lok Sabha constituencies spanning 15 states, including Assam, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra.
This nationwide foot march was unveiled in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, following the party's Bharat Jodo Yatra from Kanniyakumari to Kashmir last year. The Congress attributes its success in the assembly elections in Telangana and Karnataka to the impact of this yatra.
